"About the project

We are a dental lab seeking an experienced and dedicated full-stack developer or a small team to build a custom, HIPAA-compliant web portal from the ground up. This portal will serve as a secure platform for our partner dentists to submit cases (restorations, implants, clear aligners) and to communicate with our lab technicians. A core feature will be an integrated 3D viewer for both dentists and our team to review and annotate digital scans.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement the complete web portal, including both front-end and back-end functionality.
Ensure the entire platform is built with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance standards for data security and privacy.
Integrate a secure 3D viewer capable of handling and displaying large dental scan files (STL, PLY, OBJ).
Develop a user-friendly and intuitive interface for dentists to submit case files, track case status, and communicate with the lab.
Build the back-end infrastructure, including secure user authentication, database management, and file storage for dental case data.
Create a robust messaging and notification system for all case-related communication.
Work closely with our team to define and implement a workflow for handling different types of dental cases.

Required skills and experience

Front-end development: Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js), HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with responsive and mobile-friendly design is essential.
Back-end development: Strong experience with server-side languages such as Python (Django) or Node.js.
Database: Experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
3D graphics: Prior experience integrating or working with 3D viewer libraries (e.g., [login to view URL], [login to view URL]).
Security and compliance: Demonstrated experience developing secure, HIPAA-compliant applications with strong knowledge of data encryption, role-based access control, and best practices for protecting sensitive health information.

Experience in the healthcare or dental industry is a significant plus.
