Project description:
"I run a WordPress site that already sits on a custom theme, but it needs smart, detail-oriented front-end care to keep it fast, intuitive, and future-proof. I’m looking for someone who can look at a ticket, think two steps ahead, and deliver code that plays nicely with the rest of the stack.
You must be able to understand and speak english to understand small details in tasks.
Immediate focus
• Tweak and extend the existing custom theme—no full rebuild, just thoughtful PHP, HTML5, CSS3/Sass, and JavaScript updates.
• Rework navigation and menu structure for cleaner flows and fewer clicks.
• Push page-load speed: compress images, defer/block JS, fine-tune caching, and hit green scores on Lighthouse or GTmetrix.
• Polish mobile breakpoints so every view feels native on phones and tablets.
Typical tools you should be comfortable with include WP Rocket or similar caching plugins, Inspector/Lighthouse for diagnostics, and Git for version control. Clean, well-commented code that follows WordPress standards is essential.
Workflow & deliverables
1. Break down each task, confirm the approach, and flag any hidden dependencies before you start.
2. Deliver the update with a short change log and before/after performance metrics.
3. Test across the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
The workload will start with a few small tasks each week, and if we’re a good fit there’s steady ongoing work. If you love problem-solving and care about user experience as much as raw code, let’s talk." (client-provided description)
