About FuzeFoot
FuzeFoot is a community-driven football app based in Geneva, Switzerland, designed to make it easy for players to join local football matches without commitment. The app connects casual players with games across the city, helping users stay active, social, and engaged through spontaneous football.
Since launching in 2023, FuzeFoot has grown to over 700 registered users and organized more than 300 matches across seven outdoor pitches and two indoor halls in Geneva. We’ve recently expanded to Zurich, with plans to launch in Lausanne next.
Our mission is to make football accessible, flexible, and social — giving everyone the chance to play when and where they want, without the need for a fixed team or schedule.

Current App Specs
Platform & Infrastructure:
The FuzeFoot platform currently runs on WordPress, using a mix of plugins and custom code for match creation, user registration, and payments.


The app functions as a mobile-responsive web app, accessible via browsers on both iOS and Android.


Game and user data are managed through the WordPress backend, where admins handle scheduling, payments, and player management.


Existing Features:
Game Listings: Browse and join available football matches across Geneva.


Player Registration: Create an account, log in, and view match history.


Host Dashboard: Admins can create and edit games and manage attendance.


Payment Integration: In-app payment through Stripe (or similar API).




Planned Features & Functional Additions
In-App Messaging System
Game-Specific Chats:


Each game automatically generates a private message board for that match.


Only registered players and the host can access and interact in this chat.


Admins can send broadcast messages to all players in a game.


Private User Messaging:


Add direct messaging between players.


Include basic privacy and blocking controls.



Host Profile
Create Host profiles within WordPress where we can add a bio, a photo, their contact information and include a ‘Games Organised’ count. When a host is added to a game, all their information is viewable for that game under the list of signed up players.
Technical tasks:
Create a custom ‘Host’ tab where we the admins can create Host profiles when needed and are able to personalise: Name, Bio, Photo, Contact Information and date they joined. With each profile automatically generating a count for their games organised.
When creating a match, have a dropdown option for which host will be featured for this game.
Provide hosts with more accessibility on the app. Provide their profiles with the ability to drop out or sign up as a host to games. This allows them to be autonomous with finding someone to replace them if they can not join the game last minute.
Implement a system that will allow Hosts to update the score at the end of the match which will affect the users win and loss tallies.

Man of the Match (MVP) System

Integrate an MVP system that will allow players to vote at the end of each match for their MVP.
After each game, a pop-up prompt asks:


“Who was your Man of the Match?”



Players can vote once per match.


Results visible only to admins in the backend.


MVP data feeds into the public leaderboard.
MVP Leaderboard
On the app landing page the leaderboard will be viewable by all and will be updated every day.
Displayed on the home page or dedicated leaderboard tab.


Automatically ranks players by total MVP votes.


Updates after each match.


Adds a competitive and social element to the platform.



Push Notifications & Match Reminders
Implement a push notification system for timely updates and engagement:
1.5 hours before a match: Reminder notification sent to all registered players.


Match cancellation: Immediate notification to all affected users.


Weekly engagement message: Sent every Monday to encourage players to book games for the week.




Deliverables Expected from Freelancer
Review current WordPress setup and propose best approach for feature integration (plugin, custom code, or hybrid).
