Project description:
"I’m looking for a developer (or small team) who can turn my existing wireframe into a WCAG-compliant web platform where people with lived experience, medical and health-tech stakeholders can co-create research ideas.
Core workflow
• Users—researchers, industry experts, administrators, healthcare professionals, people with lived experience, engineers, developers and designers—sign up, verify their email and build a profile that shows a bio, areas of expertise, linked project contributions and an optional list of accessibility needs. When they post or comment they may choose an anonymous avatar.
• Any registered user can submit a new idea to a shared research Ideas Library. Each idea page hosts a threaded discussion. Participants can up-vote comments, tag other users and attach text, audio, PDF, JPG or diagram files. Idea pages also have an outline of who has nominated themselves (based on expertise) to be part of an idea generation team. Ideas when being commented on can be commented on anonymously. Ideas taken forward by a team of collaborators have additional features once a team has access to them.
• Real-time collaboration can happen through an integrated whiteboard. People can sketch, annotate or drop in media while chatting.
• A Resources section lets me curate guidelines, datasets and reference papers.
• A Networking tab searches profiles by expertise, location or keyword so teams can recruit missing skills.
• A News feed surfaces the latest ideas, milestones and platform announcements.
- Ideas are tag-able according to a library of tags generated as the forum grows.
Key requirements
Ideally we’d like the site to be built using no code platform(s) with relevant integrations.
1. Full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, including semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, ARIA where appropriate and captions/transcripts for audio uploads.
2. Secure authentication with role-based permissions (admin, expert, contributor, etc.).
3. Modular architecture so new stakeholder roles or features can be added later.
4. Modern tech stack (React, Vue or similar front-end; Node, Django or equivalent back-end; PostgreSQL or MongoDB) and clear API documentation.
5. Responsive design tested across desktop, tablet and mobile.
6. Deployment to a scalable cloud host (AWS, Azure, GCP) with CI/CD for future updates.
The site must adhere to data protection regulations under UK law & GDPR.
Deliverables
• Functional MVP matching the wireframe, ready for user testing.
• (if not on a no code platform) Source code in a private repo, plus install/run instructions.
• Basic admin dashboard for managing users, ideas and content.
• (not required, but nice to have). Accessibility report outlining how each WCAG criterion is met.
• Two weeks of post-launch bug-fix support.
I’ll provide the clickable wireframe, branding assets and user-flow notes once we start. If you have proven experience building accessible communities or forums, I’d love to see live links or code samples in your bid." (client-provided description)
