Project description:
"I have an operational “Sport management” web app that now needs a full migration to a Python-based stack while preserving every current feature. The existing codebase carries legacy bugs and dated patterns, so the job involves both a straight conversion and a solid refactor.
Core functionality that must remain intact:
• User management (accounts, roles, permissions)
• All other existing modules—no loss of behaviour while cleaning up old, buggy code
Enhancements I want you to add during the rebuild:
• Advanced analytics: interactive dashboards and exportable reports
• Third-party integration with a custom service API (not off-the-shelf gateways)
- add on for sport video editing and management
- exams page for students with live results
Scope of work
1. Analyse the current app structure, routes, and database schema.
2. Propose the best Python web framework (Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar) and justify the choice.
3. Re-implement the full feature set, writing clean, well-documented code.
4. Fix outstanding bugs identified in the legacy version.
5. Build the new analytics layer, including charts and summary metrics.
6. Connect to the specified custom service, handling authentication, webhooks, and error logging.
7. Deliver automated tests plus set-up instructions for smooth deployment.
Success criteria
• Feature parity confirmed by side-by-side testing.
• New modules work seamlessly in production.
• Code is readable, modular, and covered by tests.
• Deployment steps are clearly documented.
If you have proven experience porting apps to Python, crafting analytics dashboards, and integrating bespoke APIs, I’d like to review your approach and timeline." (client-provided description)
