"I need a custom virtual printer for Windows, written in C or C++, that behaves exactly like a standard printer to applications yet remains rock-solid under pressure. Its primary duty is to print documents, but it must also watch its own health in real time, log any anomalies, and recover automatically whenever spooler errors, driver crashes, or user-cancelled jobs occur—all without drawing the attention of Windows Defender.

The solution has to follow Microsoft-compliant architecture: correctly signed drivers, the proper monitor path, and safe non-blocking I/O. A small service or port monitor can handle the state tracking and restart logic, exposing real-time status updates through normal print APIs while persisting detailed error logs for later review.
