"My CodeIgniter app is hosted on a Cloudways server and image uploads are painfully slow. A batch of 10-15 images—many over 500 MB each—takes 30 minutes or more, sometimes fails, and no thumbnails appear. All files come straight from the user’s local drive with no pre-compression.

I need an immediate fix that:
• Speeds up large-file uploads without corrupting them.
• Restores automatic thumbnail generation (GD/ImageMagick or your preferred method).
• Leaves me with a short note of the settings or code you changed so I can replicate on staging.
