"Overview

We’re inviting creative UI/UX designers to participate in a design challenge for our AlertBuddies mobile application.
The goal is to redesign and modernize the current SOS, WatchMe, and Map screens into a single, unified interactive mockup that enhances usability and visual appeal.

AlertBuddies is a personal safety platform that helps users send quick SOS alerts and share their live location with trusted contacts (“Buddies”) in real time.
You can check our existing app and related references below.

Objective

Redesign the existing SOS, WatchMe, and Map screens (provided below) to:

Combine these features into one unified, intuitive screen.

Display the Map with the user’s and their buddies’ recent locations.

Allow interactive highlighting between SOS and WatchMe modes.

Create an interactive prototype/mockup (Figma preferred) that demonstrates the transitions and interactions.

Design Expectations

Create a modern, minimalist, and user-friendly interface aligned with current mobile design trends.

The Map section should:

Show the recent locations of monitored buddies.

Expand to full screen when tapped.

The SOS and WatchMe sections should:

Be accessible and visually distinct.

Highlight (animate or visually focus) when activated.

Design must be optimized for both Android and iOS perspectives.

Deliverables

High-fidelity mockup of the unified screen (SOS + WatchMe + Map).

Interactive prototype (preferably in Figma) showing:

Tapping on Map expands to full view.

Switching or highlighting SOS and WatchMe states.

Design system snippet (colors, icons, typography) used for the mockup.
