"I need a Windows-only desktop application that keeps all employee records in a SQL Server database and automatically flags certifications that are approaching their expiry dates. The core flow is simple: HR staff enter or import employee details, certification types, and expiry dates; the program checks those dates on launch (or on a scheduled task) and generates a clear list of anything about to lapse, ready for reminder emails or printed notices.
But employees will enter only badge number and certificate name and expiration date and the system retrieves the rest of the staff data from ERP systems
Key functions I expect:
• Clean UI to add, edit, search and bulk-import employee data.
• Background date comparison that highlights certificates due within a user-defined warning period (e.g., 30, 60, 90 days).
• One-click export or email of the reminder list (SMTP settings configurable).
• SQL Server schema and scripts included so the database can be deployed on our existing server.
• Installation package and full source code so I can recompile if needed.

If you’re experienced with Windows desktop development—whether WinForms, WPF, [login to view URL], or another framework that feels right—and comfortable with SQL Server, this should be a straightforward build. I’ll test by entering sample data and confirming reminders trigger at the correct intervals, the email/export works, and no data is lost after closing and reopening the program.
