- Summary
The DWG2IFC Converter project aims to develop an intelligent software system for automatic conversion of architectural CAD drawings (DWG/DXF) into Building Information Models (BIM) in the IFC format (IFC2x3 and IFC4).
The system will analyze 2D/2.5D/3D geometry, classify construction elements based on layer names and attributes, and perform automatic extrusion to generate full 3D BIM geometry.
This solution is designed to reduce manual modeling efforts, ensure compatibility with international BIM standards, and accelerate digital transformation in design and construction workflows.
It will provide a flexible rule-based architecture (YAML configuration), batch processing capability, error handling, and IFC validation to guarantee high performance, reliability, and scalability.
