Project description:
"I’d like a simple proof-of-concept web application that lets me place an outbound phone call and display a custom caller ID number to the recipient. I specifically want this built as a website, not a mobile app, so it should run in the browser with a clean, single-page interface.
Core requirements
• Outbound calling from the web app.
• A field where I can enter the number I’d like shown on the receiver’s phone before the call is placed.
• Basic dashboard to view the last few calls made (time, number dialed, spoofed caller ID).
• Ability to configure the service credentials (for example, Twilio, Telnyx, or any other VoIP/SIP provider that allows caller-ID selection).
Scope for this initial version
Because this is an early, low-budget iteration, I only need a functional prototype:
– Front-end: lightweight HTML/CSS/JavaScript; frameworks like React or Vue are fine but not mandatory.
– Back-end: any commonly supported stack (Node.js, Python/Flask, PHP, etc.) with a simple REST endpoint to trigger the call through the chosen telephony API.
– Minimal user authentication (single admin login is enough).
– Clear setup instructions so I can deploy it myself on a standard VPS or shared host.
What I will consider “done”
1. I can enter two numbers in the browser (the destination number and the caller ID to display) and press “Call.”
2. The recipient’s phone rings and shows the spoofed number I entered.
3. The call metadata appears in the small dashboard list.
4. I receive concise documentation covering environment variables, API keys, and deployment steps.
If you’ve previously worked with Twilio programmable voice, SIP trunking, or similar telephony APIs, let me know—those skills will be helpful here." (client-provided description)
