Project description:
"[login to view URL]’s shipping flow is almost there, but a few usability gaps remain and I’m ready to close them. The codebase is classic PHP (Laravel Based) (MyPHP section) with a JavaScript-driven front end.
Here’s what I need you to accomplish:
• Extend the MyPHP package form to store and display shipment weight and dimensions the same way we already handle quantity and price.
• Let users delete any item they just added to a package with no restrictions—simply a confirmation prompt isn’t necessary.
• Remove every visual reference to “surcharges” so the cost summary is cleaner.
• Streamline the checkout so a first-time visitor can pay as a guest without creating an account or re-entering data already provided in the cart.
• Audit the current address autocomplete (Radar API) against Google’s Places API. I need an implementation that defaults to the faster, more accurate result; log any differences so we can decide which service to keep long-term.
Acceptance is straightforward: all new fields must save to the database and show correctly in admin and customer views; deleting items never leaves orphans in the cart tables; “surcharges” disappears site-wide; guest checkout completes a real sandbox transaction in under two minutes; and the address lookup comparison report is delivered alongside switchable code snippets for Google and Radar.
If you’re comfortable tracing legacy PHP, tweaking MySQL, and wiring up external APIs, this should be a concise sprint. Let’s get it live." (client-provided description)
