"I need a lean MVP that captures the essence of Instagram without the extras. The app’s main purpose is social networking, so users must be able to share photos and videos, scroll a feed, and interact through likes and comments. Direct messaging and stories can stay on the roadmap for later phases; right now I want to keep the build focused and fast.

Core requirements
• Email-and-password sign-up, login, and password reset
• Photo/video upload with basic caption field
• Feed that displays posts chronologically (infinite scroll is a plus)
• Real-time like and comment functionality, including simple notifications
• Profile screen with avatar, bio, and user’s own posts
• Clean, responsive UI that feels familiar to social media users

Tech guidance
I’m flexible on the stack—React Native, Flutter, or a lightweight Swift/Kotlin build are all fine—as long as the code is well-structured and easy to extend. For the backend, Firebase or a small Node/Express service and a managed database work well, but I’m open to another straightforward solution you’re comfortable scaling later.
