"I need a lightweight yet expandable CRM that keeps every conversation—email, call, or text—tied to the right contact record. The core build should:

• Store and search contacts, companies, and deal notes in one dashboard
• Connect to a common email provider (Gmail, Outlook, or even a custom IMAP/SMTP server) so messages appear inside the contact timeline and can be replied to from the CRM itself
• Link each contact’s primary phone number so incoming and outgoing calls, SMS, or VoIP sessions are automatically logged with date, time, and duration
• Offer a clean UI that works on desktop and mobile browsers

I’m open to the framework you prefer (Laravel, Node, Django, etc.) as long as the final code is well-documented and easy for another developer to extend. You may use Twilio, Plivo, or a comparable API for the telephony layer—whichever integrates fastest.

Acceptance criteria:
1. I can add a contact, send an email from the CRM, and see the reply threaded in the timeline.
2. I can click a phone icon to initiate a call or SMS and have that interaction logged automatically.
3. All data remains in a SQL database that I can back up with one command.
