Project description:
"I need a small proof-of-concept that turns a multi-floor DXF drawing (16-story building) into an interactive 3D model running directly in a modern web browser. [login to view URL] is the framework I want you to build on, so please avoid any other engines for this first iteration.
Core behaviour
• The DWG is parsed, extruded (simple constant height per floor is fine), and displayed as a single building.
• Users can freely rotate the model with the mouse or touch; no other navigation tools are required at this stage. The building can rotate slowly automatically until a mouse is passed over to select a floor or unit.
• When a specific floor or individual unit is programmatically “selected”, that element should be smoothly highlighted (e.g., color change or glow) while the rest fades slightly, then return to normal when another element is chosen. I will trigger these selections via a simple JS call or button so I can demonstrate the effect.
• Each highlighted floor must be its own object/group. Each highlighted unit must also be a separate object/group. Just a few floors and units can be highlighted to show proof of concept.
• Performance needs to stay solid on a typical laptop running Chrome or Firefox.
* vanilla JavaScript (no React, Vue, or other frameworks unless it is required)
Deliverables
1. A self-contained HTML/JS demo using [login to view URL], plus any lightweight helper library you feel essential for DXF parsing.
2. Brief README that explains the public methods to select a floor or unit for the highlight animation.
