Project description:
"I need a clean, working port of the LittleFS file-system library that runs on the Realtek RTL8720DN when programmed through the Arduino IDE. The end result should let me mount, read, write, and delete files reliably while preserving LittleFS’s wear-leveling and power-failure resilience features.
Key technical notes
• Target MCU: Realtek RTL8720DN (dual-core with Wi-Fi/BLE).
• Adjustable partition size allocation to accomodate 2 MB and 4 MB flash variant
• Dev environment: Arduino IDE, so the port must compile cleanly as an Arduino library and integrate with standard SPI/Flash storage APIs.
• Hardware integration: the code has to coexist smoothly with the chip’s Wi-Fi/BLE stack and support high-speed I/O without blocking radio operation.
Deliverables
1. Source code of the adapted LittleFS with clear, well-commented board support files.
2. An example sketch that formats flash, performs read/write stress tests, and shows the FS working alongside an active Wi-Fi connection.
3. Brief setup notes: required pin definitions, flash layout choices, and any changes you made to core files.
4. A short validation report (bench test results or log output) proving wear leveling and safe recovery after a forced power cut.
If you have already worked with the Ameba/RTL8720DN core or brought other file systems to embedded Wi-Fi chips, that experience will be invaluable." (client-provided description)
