Project Description

We are looking for a skilled developer to connect our Twilio business number with Slack so our tech team can send and receive client text messages directly inside Slack channels.

When a client texts our Twilio number, the message should automatically appear in a designated Slack channel or thread. Our team should be able to reply in Slack, and their response should be delivered back to the client through the same Twilio number.

This integration will replace our previous Discord setup and become part of our long-term customer communication workflow.

Core Requirements

Configure Twilio Messaging Service (10DLC compliant) for inbound and outbound SMS.

Create or connect a Slack bot or app that:

Posts new client texts into Slack (for example, #sms-inbox or #client-[number]).

Allows team replies from Slack to send through Twilio to the client.

Syncs contact names from Google Contacts or Google Sheets for labeling.

Logs all message activity to Google Sheets, Airtable, or a lightweight database.

Include automatic HELP/STOP compliance handling.

Build modularly to allow for future scaling across multiple cities.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

Experience integrating Twilio and Slack using [login to view URL] or Zapier.

Familiarity with Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js for webhook handling.

Understanding of Slack Block Kit, message threading, and rate limits.

Optionally add an API endpoint for retrieving message history.
