"About Snackers
Snackers is a new community-driven platform where snack lovers discover, rate, and review new snacks each week. From the newest chip and cookie flavors to the latest better-for-you brands. Think of it as Rotten Tomatoes for snacks.
Users can review snacks, build out their profiles, and follow other snack lovers and creators with similar taste preferences. It’s part review site, part social platform, designed to make snack discovery fun, personalized, and powered by real people.

The Role
We’re looking for a skilled Frontend Developer to help build and polish the Snackers website. You’ll work closely with our founder, our lead coder and designer to bring a responsive user experience to life. Must be available for check-ins with lead developer and weekly team syncs.

The frontend for this project is partially implemented already, and figma designs are finished. We just need some assistance on the last legs of our build.

Responsibilities
Implement responsive, production-ready UI components using React, shadcn/ui and TailwindCSS
Integrate frontend page/components built with Supabase for authentication, snack data, and user profiles, including more complex systems, such as that for pagination of reviews.
Collaborate on refining UX and visual design for launch – receive Figma designs, iterate a version, receive feedback in a sync-up, repeat until everything looks great from our end.
Optimize site performance and accessibility (as applicable, prioritize main tasks)
Help build out visuals for new voting, rating, and profile features that are being implemented actively.

Ideal Experience
Proven experience building modern frontend applications in [login to view URL] and TypeScript (provide repository sample(s) to be reviewed before an agreement is made. We want to see how you go about structuring and designing a project.)
Comfort working with Supabase specifically, especially Row Level Security policies.
Clear understanding of managed Supabase’s many features and crucially, how much they cost.
Strong competency with shadcn/ui components, specifically customizing them to fit a styleguide.
The same strong competency for utilizing tailwindCSS for inline responsive styling, with a focus on mobile first.
Eye for clean, modern design and pixel-perfect UI
Willingness to learn new technologies as needed, and fluidly integrate them into the frontend.
Available for ongoing collaboration over the next 1–4 months

Nice to Have
Experience with launch-ready startup builds
Experience with OpenAPI compliant builds with [login to view URL]
An understanding of SEO from a top-level, and how Server Side Rendering (SSR) step of the [login to view URL] build affects this. Also OpenGraph meta tag understanding would be excellent
Familiarity with user-generated content or social/community platforms, especially as it relates to moderation, exploit pre-emption, user behavior patterns.
