"I need my existing Laravel 5 application cleanly migrated to Laravel 12 while keeping everything that already works intact. Core areas that must remain fully functional include:

• User authentication
• Payment processing
• Data reporting
• Every other feature the legacy system currently delivers, with bugs fixed rather than carried over

Alongside the version jump, I also want to slip in two sensible improvements: enhanced security measures and noticeable performance optimizations. The database will stay largely the same, so expect only minor schema tweaks or migration scripts where the new framework version demands it.

Deliverables I expect:
1. Up-to-date Laravel 12 codebase running locally and on my staging server.
2. All required migrations, configs, and environment files adjusted for the new version.
3. Clear notes on any database changes and why they were necessary.
4. A short test report confirming that authentication, payments, and reporting behave exactly as before—or better.

Keep the upgrade lean; unnecessary rewrites are not part of the scope. I’m available to answer questions quickly so you can move straight to implementation.
