This project proposes the development of an intelligent web-based platform that processes drone-captured videos from a 90° (top-down) angle to automatically:

Count the total number of animals in the herd, and

Estimate the individual and total live weight of each animal with a margin of error below 5 %.


The goal is to provide farmers and livestock companies with a reliable, non-invasive tool for stock control and production monitoring — eliminating the need for corrals, scales, or physical handling.

Recommended Recording Conditions

To ensure accurate results, videos must meet the following specifications:

Camera angle: 90° (completely perpendicular to the ground).

Flight altitude: between 8 m and 20 m, depending on herd size and drone type.

Static flight: during recording, the drone must remain as still as possible, avoiding lateral movement or rotation.

> Any movement changes image scale and perspective, which can affect weight-estimation precision.



Recommended duration: between 15 and 45 seconds per herd.

Minimum resolution: Full HD (1920 × 1080 px).

Shutter speed: high enough to avoid motion blur.

Lighting: natural daylight, avoiding strong shadows or reflections.


Videos can be uploaded directly to the platform or processed via cloud storage links (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).

Processing and Results

The platform uses advanced computer-vision and AI models trained on bovine morphology.
During analysis, it automatically identifies each animal in the video, assigns a temporary ID, and calculates:

Individual estimated weight (kg)

Average and total lot weight

Total animals detected

A frame or image with numbered animals
