"This is a programming project. Here is the setup. I have a computer with a Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system. I have a Keystone model 34461A digital multimeter (DMM) that is connected to the computer via a USB cable. I have a hand held button switch that is connected to the Ext. Trigger connector of the DMM. On the computer I have an Excel program running. Excel may be a 2019, 2021 or 2024 version.

Operationally, I highlight a cell in Excel. When I press the button on the button switch, a reading is taken from the DMM and is placed into the cell and then the highlighted cell changes to the one directly below the one with data. With subsequent pushes of the button switch, the reading from the DMM continues to be placed into a cell and then the highlighted cell is advanced to the next cell below. That's it operationally.

However, prior to taking data, using the program the user must be able to select whether the reading is voltage or current and whether the reading is to be taken from the front terminals or the back terminals of the DMM. The program should also identify what DMM it is connected to.

In addition, if necessary, there can be a 'connect' button on the program interface to connect it to the DMM.

The program interface should look more or less like the attached picture.
