Project description:
"I want to give pharmacology students a safe, hands-on way to practise drug experiments without ever touching a real animal. The goal is a cross-platform simulator—playable in any modern browser and packaged as an Android app—that feels as engaging as RJPT SimLab while going deeper into step-by-step theory.
We are seeking an experienced AI / Game Developer (Unity, Unreal, or WebGL preferred) to build an interactive virtual animal simulator for pharmacology experiments.
The project is inspired by the structure and functionality of RJPT SimLab.
The simulator will help students perform virtual pharmacology experiments on laboratory animals—showing procedures, animations, drug effects, and theoretical learning content in an ethical, digital environment.
Core Features Required
Interactive Animal Models: Frog, Rabbit, Rat, Guinea Pig, Dog.
Experiment Simulation: Step-by-step actions (e.g., injection, blood withdrawal, tissue isolation).
AI-Driven Responses: Simulated physiological reactions based on drug type and dose.
Stepwise Guidance: Narration and text hints during experiments.
Theory & Quiz Sections: Linked learning modules and self-tests.
Result Generation: Show outcomes, graphs, and observations.
Admin Dashboard: Add / edit experiments, manage users.
Cross-Platform Support: Web (HTML5/WebGL) and optional Android or desktop app.
• Species library: high-fidelity rodents, canines and primates, each rigged for smooth, believable animations.
• Experiment suites: behavioural testing, full pharmacokinetic workflows and toxicology protocols. Students select a drug, set dosage and route, then watch the animal’s real-time response.
• Data engine: behind every animation sits a model calculating onset, peak effect and adverse reactions. Results stream into clear line graphs and tables that can be exported.
• Learning overlay: concise theory cards guide users before, during and after each procedure so they understand not just what happens, but why.
• Progress sync: users can log in on the web or Android, pick up where they left off, and share results with instructors.
Initial Experiments (Phase-1)
Priority:
Test for Pyrogens (Rabbit Method) — 60-minute advanced simulation
Other Experiments:
Introduction to Experimental Pharmacology
Commonly Used Instruments in Pharmacology
Study of Common Laboratory Animals
Maintenance of Laboratory Animals as per CCSEA Guidelines
Common Laboratory Techniques – Blood Withdrawal
Different Routes of Drug Administration (Mice & Rats)
Effect of Drugs on Frog Oesophagus Ciliary Motility
Effect of Drugs on Rabbit Eye
Elevated Plus Maze Test (Anti-Anxiety Study)
Analgesic Effect of Morphine (Hot Plate Method)
Anti-Inflammatory Activity (Carrageenan Paw-Edema)
Frog Heart Perfusion / Isolated Heart
Dose-Response Curve & PD₂ Calculations
Bioassay Experiments (Histamine, Acetylcholine, Serotonin)
Muscle Relaxant (Rota-Rod Test)
Anticonvulsant and Sedative Studies
Biostatistical Analysis (t-Test, ANOVA)
Ethical and Unethical Handling of Animals
Good Laboratory Practices
(Full list reference: RJPT SimLab Experiments)
Preferred Tech Stack
Frontend: Unity 3D / Unreal Engine / WebGL
Backend (optional): Node.js / Django / Firebase
AI & Simulation Logic: Python / C# / JavaScript
Database: MySQL / MongoDB
UI: Responsive interface similar to RJPT SimLab
Deliverables
1. Fully functional web version (deployed to test server)
2. Admin dashboard for content and student management.
3. Android APK ready for Play Store submission
4. Source code with build instructions and commented logic for pharmacokinetics, behaviour scoring and toxicity endpoints
5. Brief video walk-through and setup documentation
Acceptance will be based on:
• Accuracy of drug-response curves compared with reference data I will supply
• Smooth 60 fps animation on a mid-range laptop and standard Android device
• No critical bugs during a 30-minute continuous test session
• Complete hand-off material so my internal team can extend the project
If this mix of game dev, AI modelling and educational design excites you, let’s talk timeframe and milestones.
