"The project centres on a browser-based editor purpose-built for vertical videos. Within one streamlined workspace I want users to import footage from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or their local drive, layer b-roll clips, and rely on integrated AI to handle voiceovers and on-screen text.

Core functionality
• Upload & format any portrait-ratio clip, with automatic resizing or padding as needed.
• Drop in a second video track for b-roll; AI should analyse both sources and suggest smart cuts to create a fresh composite.
• Voiceover tools powered by text-to-speech and voice cloning, plus a speech-to-captions engine that time-codes dialogue and makes quick subtitle revisions possible.
• Text overlays that can be either animated or static, positioned by drag-and-drop and styled through a simple panel.
• Export in platform-ready presets so creators can publish directly back to YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, or TikTok without extra tweaking.

User experience goals
The timeline must feel intuitive to non-technical creators: live preview while scrubbing, undo/redo, and keyboard shortcuts for common edits. All AI processes (voice synthesis, captioning, b-roll cut suggestions) should run server-side so the interface stays responsive.

Scope for future growth
Although the initial focus is vertical content, the architecture should leave room for standard widescreen projects by keeping the rendering pipeline ratio-agnostic.
