"I need to move an existing solution made up of 23 C# projects from mixed targets (.NET 2.0, 4.0 and 4.5) to a unified .NET 4.8 code-base. The functional behaviour must remain identical: when the work is done, the legacy branches must still compile and run exactly as they do today, while the new 4.8 branch delivers the same results side-by-side.

You will work exclusively on a dedicated Git branch, updating project files, NuGet references, compiler directives and any obsolete APIs that break under 4.8. No functional documentation is available in the code, so regression testing after the upgrade is essential to prove nothing changed. Only a small team (1-5 users) relies on the software, yet every module is business-critical, so I expect a concise test report that demonstrates successful builds and runtime parity across the full solution.

Deliverables
• A clean branch that builds in Visual Studio / MSBuild against .NET 4.8 without warnings
• Any migration scripts or notes needed to repeat the process
• A short regression test log showing the old and new builds running the same scenarios successfully
