Project description:
"I need an MVP Android app that can spot a phishing link the moment a user taps it inside any email client. The ideal workflow is:
• The user clicks an email link → the app intercepts or analyzes the URL in real time.
• If the link looks suspicious, the app blocks navigation and raises a clear popup message that shows a short, plain-language explanation (“This site imitates PayPal” or “Domain created 2 days ago”).
Core requirements
• Real-time scanning of every tapped URL, using heuristics, blacklists, DNS/WHOIS age, and any lightweight ML model you prefer.
• Automatic link blocking whenever the detection score crosses the danger threshold.
• Optional “Report as phishing” button in the popup so users can submit the URL to a central list for future model training.
• All logic runs on-device; online lookups are allowed but should fail gracefully offline.
• Clean, well-commented Kotlin or Java code plus a brief architecture read-me so I can hand it to another dev for an eventual iOS port.
Nice-to-have (not required for the first milestone)
• If full email-client embedding proves impossible, a universal “Share to PhishGuard” intent is acceptable as long as the popup still appears before the site loads.
Deliverables
1. Signed APK + source in a private repo
2. One-page setup / build guide
3. Short video or GIF demo showing the popup, basic explanation text, real-time blocking, and user reporting in action
I’m aiming for a lightweight yet reliable first release, so focus on stability, speed, and a clean UI over bells and whistles. Let me know which detection libraries or custom models you plan to integrate and how you’ll keep false positives low." (client-provided description)
