"I need a straightforward, working example that shows how to move data between an Arduino and a Python 3 script. I already have the board and sensor hardware on hand; what’s missing is the code and a brief guide that ties everything together.

Here’s all I’m after:

• A simple, well-commented Arduino sketch that reads a basic sensor value (feel free to choose a common analog or digital component) and streams the data over the Serial port.
• A matching, well-commented Python script that opens the correct COM/tty port, parses the incoming values, then prints or logs them to the console or a text file.
• Short, step-by-step notes on installing any required libraries (e.g., pyserial) and selecting the correct port so I can reproduce the setup on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Keep the solution lightweight—no elaborate GUIs or cloud connectivity—just the core loop that proves the connection works. Clear comments and clean structure matter more to me than feature depth.
