"Centurian Media is a dynamic and fast-growing international news and media agency based in Maidstone, Kent, UK. We manage a diverse and expanding digital portfolio that spans multiple global markets.
We’re now seeking an experienced Technical Web Manager — a hands-on, solutions-driven professional who will take ownership of our entire web infrastructure and play a key role in shaping our online strategy.
This is a pivotal position for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to directly influence the performance and reliability of a busy media network.

The Role
As Technical Web Manager, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end management of our web environment, covering 13 WordPress instances hosted across four Cloudways (Digital Ocean) servers.
Your work will sit across four key pillars:

1. Server Management & Performance
o Administer and maintain our Cloudways (Digital Ocean) servers.
o Monitor server load, performance, and resource allocation across all WordPress sites.
o Manage core software updates (PHP, MySQL) and execute critical security patches.
o Handle Cloudflare DNS, CDN integration, and incident response.
o Advise on scalability and future server strategy.
2. Website Support & Development
o Oversee and optimise 13 WordPress instances, focusing on speed and stability.
o Conduct controlled plugin updates, performance testing, and version control.
o Support in-house designers with Elementor Pro best practices and advanced design techniques.
o Implement and troubleshoot forms (Fluent Forms), Stripe payments, and Mailchimp/Google Sheets integrations.
o Diagnose and resolve WordPress, Elementor, and server-level issues swiftly.
3. Technical SEO & Performance
o Manage all technical SEO aspects: XML sitemaps, [login to view URL], canonical tags, and redirects.
o Optimise for Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and page speed.
o Set up and monitor Google Search Console, fixing crawl and indexation issues.
o Collaborate closely with our third-party SEO agency to ensure technical alignment.
4. Strategic Web Consulting
o Serve as the in-house expert and advisor for all web-related initiatives.
o Recommend improvements to infrastructure, UX, and digital strategy.
o Guide internal teams on effective multi-site WordPress management.
