"I need an Android application that keeps running quietly in the background, captures the user’s position with full GPS precision, and posts that latitude-longitude data to my server every minute without fail. While the app does its work, I also want users to authenticate through a simple login flow, receive occasional push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging is fine), and have every bit of data—both in transit and at rest—encrypted.

From the user’s point of view the app will look like any other standard location service: once they sign in and grant permissions, it just works. Under the hood it should rely on a foreground service or WorkManager so Android’s power management never kills the job. Accuracy has to stay locked on “High accuracy (GPS)”; falling back to Wi-Fi or cell towers is acceptable only when the GPS chip can’t get a fix.

The server side already accepts JSON posts, so you only need to hit a single HTTPS endpoint I’ll provide. I’d appreciate a very small, lightweight viewer— even a basic web page that plots the incoming coordinates in real time on Google Maps or Leaflet is enough—so I can confirm live movement during testing.

Acceptance criteria:
• GPS readings reach the server every 60 ± 5 seconds while the phone screen is off.
• Login, push notifications, and encryption all function on Android 8.0 through 14.
• Source code, build instructions, and a quick README for the viewer are handed over at the end.
