"We need a reliable automation script or small program that can automatically operate a specific Windows desktop application.
Previously, we used an AutoHotkey script, but since we updated the Windows program, it no longer works properly. In addition, AutoHotkey has proven to be unstable and error-prone for this use case.

The task is simple but needs to be stable and consistent — the program should open the application, log in, wait for about two minutes, and then close the application.
When the program closes, it automatically performs a data export, which is the main reason we need this automation.

Required Workflow:

Launch the Windows application

Automatically enter username and password

Confirm login

Wait approximately 2 minutes

Close the application (this automatically triggers the data export)

Requirements:

Must run reliably on Windows 10/11

Secure handling of login credentials (encrypted or protected storage)

Stable and maintainable — ideally not based on AutoHotkey

Should be executable via Windows Task Scheduler for automated runs

Preferably written in a robust scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, C#, or similar

Should not rely on screen coordinates or fragile UI interactions if possible

Goal:

Create a simple and stable automation that performs the above sequence autonomously and can run on our Windows systems without user interaction.
