"Summary
Hey! I’m Linus. I run Greyfield Data an NYC based data solutions company. I help companies turn messy data into useful, actionable dashboards.

Things are growing fast, and I’m looking to bring on two new A-player team members to handle a big chunk of delivery so I can focus again on growing the business instead of delivery. 



I’ve got about 30-40 monthly hours to start for each role outlined below and ideally you want to work together long term.

A dream candidate could fulfill both roles, but being suited to just one of these roles is fine too!

Role 1: BI / Data Analyst (Power BI, Looker, Tableau)

You’ll be doing things like:

- Turning client requests into real dashboards
- Validating data, building visuals, tweaking designs
- Owning end-to-end reporting in tools like Power BI (top priority), Looker, or Tableau

Example project:


Build out rebate reporting dashboards in Looker for a healthcare client. Clear requirements, but lots of back-and-forth on filters, data logic, and final layout

Role 2: Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer (dbt (most important)Python, SQL, Snowflake)

You’ll be doing things like:

- Building and managing modern ELT pipelines
- Working with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and various APIs
- Refactoring pipelines to reduce cost and complexity

Example projects:

1. Migrate data ingestion from an existing connector to Fivetran + dbt in Snowflake for an ecommerce client. Bonus points if you can break down the cost savings.
2. Ingesting 100’s of google sheets of data, with millions of rows using fivetran. Snowflake has a feature called openflow. Moving how you pull data from the sheets currently to the openflow feature within Snowflake to save money/time.

- You’re proactive at getting the work done and communicating about it
- You’re sharp, independent, and can figure things out on your own (and I’m here for support too of course!)
- Bonus if you are able to be client facing (great at communicating directly with clients)

Details

- Starting with 30 to 40 hours monthly per role
- Monday to Friday — need 4 to 8 hours overlap with 10am to 6pm EST
- Preferably in Canada or the US, but open to anyone who’s fluent in English and time zone friendly
- Mostly async work, with 1 to 3 quick check-ins per week

Pay

- $40 to $75 USD per hour depending on your experience
- Open to agreeing to weekly/monthly retainer, so you know you’ve got a baseline every week
- If you’re crushing it long-term, there's room to talk bonuses or profit-sharing
