Project description:
"I need to retire RepairDesk and launch a single, cloud-based platform that runs every aspect of my electronics repair business. The end result should feel seamless to staff and customers alike, covering CRM, ticketing, POS, inventory and a full stack of integrations.
Core scope
• CRM – customer profiles and history are critical, and I want automated communications (SMS / email) plus basic lead-management tools built in.
• Ticketing – issue tracking with real-time status updates, clear customer communication threads, priority rules, and the ability to assign or transfer tickets between technicians or branch locations.
• POS & inventory – barcode scanning, parts stock levels, purchase orders and simple retail checkout in-store.
• Integrations – bi-directional sync with Shopify (online store) and our WordPress booking calendar, (repair booking moduel) payment processing through QuickPay or Stripe, bookkeeping hand-off, and chat hooks for Mattermost, Slack or WhatsApp.
• Customer portal – web interface where clients can open tickets, view progress, approve quotes and pay outstanding balances.
• Reporting & marketing – sales dashboards, technician performance, inventory turns, outbound SMS/email campaigns, and a subscription layer so we can eventually resell the system to other repair shops.
• Payment hardware – our chip-and-PIN countertop terminal must connect through the vendor’s API for card-present transactions.
High-level deliverables
1. Production-ready web application (responsive UI) with the modules above enabled.
2. API documentation for third-party services and future extensions.
3. Deployment scripts and source code in a private Git repo.
4. Test dataset plus walkthrough showing a full ticket lifecycle from booking to checkout.
Acceptance criteria
• A new ticket created in WordPress appears instantly in the ticket queue.
• Status change in the app triggers an SMS to the customer.
• A part sold in POS decrements inventory in both the app and Shopify.
• Card-present payment posts to the bookkeeping system with correct fees.
I’m open to the tech stack you recommend (Laravel, Node, Django, React, Vue, etc.) so long as it is well-documented, secure and easy to maintain. Let me know your proposed architecture, timeline and any similar projects you’ve delivered." (client-provided description)
