"Request for Proposal: Website Redesign for Black to Mexico

Project Overview

Black to Mexico is a soulful migration empowerment movement that blends poetic storytelling, ancestral wisdom, and practical guidance. We are seeking a visionary web designer/developer to help us revise and elevate our existing website into a layered, immersive experience that reflects our brand’s emotional depth, cultural symbolism, and transformational offerings.

Scope of Work

We are looking for a collaborator who can:

- Redesign the entire Black to Mexico website (currently hosted on Bluehost platform, e.g., WordPress]) with a fresh, intuitive, mobile-responsive layout
- Integrate poetic language, ancestral motifs, and ritual symbolism into the design
- Create clear pathways for offerings: e-books, audio rituals, migration guides, community invitations, and Substack integration.
- Align visuals with our brand palette (earth tones, ancestral textures, soft gradients, and bold typography)
- Ensure seamless UX across desktop and mobile, with intuitive navigation and layered storytelling
- Integrate newsletter sign-up, podcast embeds, and social media links (IG, FB, TT, Pinterest, YouTube, Substack)
- Provide backend flexibility for ongoing updates and blog posts (preferably with CMS access)

Deliverables

- Full website redesign (5–8 core pages + blog/archive integration)
- Custom visual elements (banners, icons, section dividers)
- Substack integration as central altar for storytelling and community dialogue
- SEO optimization and basic analytics setup
- Optional: light animation or scroll-triggered effects to enhance ritual flow

Ideal Collaborator

- Deeply attuned to soulful branding, poetic messaging, and cultural empowerment
- Experienced in designing for wellness, migration, or spiritual movements
- Comfortable with iterative feedback and collaborative flow
- Able to translate layered emotional and symbolic language into intuitive design
- Familiar with platforms like Substack, Squarespace, WordPress, or Webflow
