"I manage an Android document-scanner app ([login to view URL]). Single-page scans work, but the moment a user captures multiple pages the app keeps the pages separate instead of saving one combined PDF.

What I need fixed:
• Investigate why the current flow fails to merge pages.
• After each successful capture the app must prompt the user to scan the next page, then on “Finish” export a single multi-page PDF.
• Preserve the existing image-enhancement filters and keep the export/import and share functions fully operational.

Deliverables:
• Clean, well-commented code changes for the Android Studio project (Java/Kotlin).
• Any updated gradle dependencies (e.g., PDFBox, iText, CameraX) included.
• A short README describing the fix and how to build/run.

I will consider the task complete once I can:
1. Scan three pages in a row, each time being prompted to continue.
2. Receive one consolidated PDF in the output folder.
3. Reopen and share that PDF from within the app without crashes or quality loss.
