The existing website (developed in wordpress) needs to be upgraded for a neater, cleaner and more vibrant look.

The website will be the central hub for our annual board-game convention, built on WordPress so that my team can keep it updated without touching code. Its primary purpose is to inform visitors about dates, venue, and programming, while still giving them an easy path to buy passes when they are ready.

Pages and key content I need delivered:
• Home – event highlights, breaking announcements, a live countdown timer, quick links to the important interior pages, and a small gallery of last year’s photos.
• Schedule – day-by-day timetable that we can edit ourselves.
• About Us – our story, mission, and press-ready stats.
• Tournaments – listing of competitive events with sign-up buttons.
• Buy Passes – call-to-action section that can later be connected to whatever ticketing plugin we choose.
• Sponsors & Exhibitors – logo grid with outbound links and short blurbs.
• FAQs – collapsible questions for easy scanning.
• Contact – embedded form (reCAPTCHA ready) plus map and social links.

Design tone: colorful, playful, and mobile-first, reflecting modern tabletop culture while keeping accessibility in mind (WCAG-friendly color contrast and alt text on all images). Feel free to start with a lightweight theme such as Astra or GeneratePress, and build layouts in Elementor or Gutenberg blocks—whichever keeps page speed high and upkeep simple.

Acceptance criteria
• Pages load in under three seconds on desktop Lighthouse tests.
• All text, images, and buttons are editable from the WordPress dashboard.
• Home-page countdown timer correctly reflects a date I can change in one place.
• Site passes basic accessibility checks (headings hierarchy, alt text, color contrast).
• Final hand-off includes a short loom/video walkthrough and a one-page guide covering theme, plugins, and how to update each section.
