"I need a lightweight, browser-based application that lets me record every purchase we make and keep an eye on day-to-day expenses. It must run entirely on the web so my team can log in from any computer without installing anything.

Key features I’m after:
• Purchase tracking – date, supplier, description, amount, uploaded receipt, and a running balance.
• Expense management – simple categorisation, quick search, and export to CSV or Excel for monthly reviews.

The system has to support multiple user roles. At minimum, I want an admin who can see and edit everything, plus regular staff who can only add or view their own entries.

A clean, responsive interface is essential, and I’d like straightforward menus rather than a full ERP-style layout. You’re free to build with the stack you know best—Laravel, Django, Node, or any modern framework—as long as the final deliverable is easy for me to deploy on a standard shared host or a small VPS.

Deliverables:
1. Source code with clear setup instructions.
2. SQL script (or migration files) for the database schema.
3. Brief user guide covering role permissions and daily workflows.
