Project description:
"I run a WooCommerce site that sells homemade food for Saturday pick-up or delivery only. Right now customers can put items in the cart, but there’s no reliable way for them to tell me which future Saturday they want.
Here’s the workflow I need built: a small, self-contained feature—call it “Available dates”—that appears on my homepage. When a shopper clicks it, a drop-down should list the next eight Saturdays, auto-refreshed every week. Each option must read in the exact style “Shabbos Nov 22”, “Shabbos Nov 29”, and so on. As soon as a customer picks one, it should behave exactly like any other product attribute: the chosen date is added to the cart, passed through checkout, and stored in the order meta so I can see it in the admin panel and on the confirmation email.
I’m fine with a lightweight custom plugin or a snippet in the theme’s [login to view URL]—whatever is cleanest and won’t break future WordPress or WooCommerce updates. No commercial date-picker plugins out there have done the trick, so this needs to be coded from scratch, ideally using standard WooCommerce hooks, PHP, and a dash of JavaScript for the front-end drop-down.
Or you can literally make it work like a food menu with no coding and instead of food items place dates to be added to the cart
Whatever works
Please build, test, and document the solution so I can move it to staging and then production without hiccups." (client-provided description)
