Project description:
"Our supervisory control platform for energy-generation sites needs to talk seamlessly to the on-site PLC systems. I need someone who already knows their way around Modbus (RTU & TCP), standard Ethernet messaging, and OPC (classic or UA) so the hand-shake between our application layer and each PLC is rock-solid.
Scope
The job centres on wiring up three core functions over those interfaces:
• Data acquisition and historical logging into our SQL back-end
• Real-time monitoring with read/write control points exposed to our HMI
• Alarm and event handling with correct priorities and timestamp integrity
You will work against the existing tag list, meet our naming conventions, and document every register or node you touch. I can provide VPN access to a test PLC plus our development environment; you bring your own tools—be that Wireshark, Kepware, or a favourite OPC UA SDK.
Acceptance
The work is done when:
1. All tags in the supplied list poll successfully over Modbus, Ethernet, or OPC (your choice per tag as long as latency stays <200 ms).
2. Commands issued from our HMI change the corresponding PLC coils or registers and verify on round-trip.
3. Alarms raised in the PLC appear in our system with correct severity and clear on acknowledgement.
4. A concise integration report (PDF or Markdown) captures settings, register maps, and any deviations from the spec.
If you are comfortable juggling multiple industrial protocols and can prove stable communication with live hardware, let’s get started." (client-provided description)
