Project description:
"I want to build a web-application on the Frappe / ERPNext stack that blends a full-featured marketplace with a collaboration hub designed specifically for the research community. Three distinct roles will operate within the system—Researchers, Suppliers/Vendors, and Administrators—each with tailored permissions and dashboards.
Marketplace flow
Suppliers list research kits, chemicals, or lab gear; Researchers browse, add to cart, and check out through ERPNext’s commerce engine. I need custom hooks for product reviews and ratings so peers can quickly gauge quality, plus an integrated order-tracking workflow that updates status from purchase through delivery. Payments will leverage the gateway already supported by ERPNext, but the UI must be streamlined for scientific products (e.g., hazard notices, batch/lot numbers, MSDS links).
Collaboration layer
Beyond transactions, the platform should let researchers form project spaces, share files, and track milestones—re-using ERPNext’s project module where possible, yet simplified for non-corporate users. A permissions matrix has to ensure that only invited collaborators gain access while Administrators retain global oversight.
Technical approach
• Build on the latest stable Frappe/ERPNext release, using custom apps rather than core hacks to keep upgrades smooth.
• Define DocTypes for Listings, Reviews, Shipments, and Collaboration Projects, with role-based workflow states.
• Front-end can stay in frappe framework; I’m open to Vue or React components if it accelerates a clean, modern UI.
• Code must be pushed to a private Git repository with clear commit messages and basic unit tests.
Acceptance criteria
1. A user in each role can complete their primary tasks end-to-end without hitting permission errors.
2. Listings show aggregate star ratings and individual review detail.
3. Order history displays real-time status changes triggered by supplier actions.
4. A researcher can spin up a project space, invite peers, and attach at least one file.
5. All features survive a bench update without breaking.
If this aligns with your expertise in Frappe/ERPNext custom development, let’s discuss timelines and next steps." (client-provided description)
