Project description:
"I’m putting together a small control-and-monitor unit centered on a DWIN DGUS HMI and I’d like you to handle both the screen layout and the firmware that talks to it. The unit will run two microcontrollers side-by-side: an Arduino for the low-level, timing-sensitive jobs and a NodeMCU (ESP8266) for anything that needs Wi-Fi or rapid data exchange.
On the NodeMCU side I need reliable sensor data collection, Wi-Fi communication that can push and pull JSON payloads (HTTP or MQTT is fine), plus the ability to switch external peripherals on command.
On the Arduino side the sketch must read a handful of analog sensors, drive a few actuators, and log key values locally—SD card or internal EEPROM, whichever is faster to get going.
The HMI itself will be the user’s only interface, so I’m looking for a clear, touch-friendly layout made in DGUS Studio: status overview, real-time plots, settings pages, and a maintenance screen. Please map every on-screen button, slider, and indicator to serial commands that both MCUs can understand and document that protocol so I can expand it later.
Deliverables
• DGUS project files (graphics, fonts, .dgui) ready to flash
• Fully commented Arduino and NodeMCU sketches showing how you split the jobs above
• A concise wiring diagram and pin map
• README that explains the serial protocol and includes build / flashing steps
I’ll test by compiling the code in Arduino IDE, loading the GUI to the screen, and confirming that sensor values appear correctly, Wi-Fi functions hold connection, and every actuator moves from the HMI. If you can run a quick video demo with your own hardware before hand-off, even better." (client-provided description)
