"I need a straightforward, text-based CAPTCHA integrated into the existing login form of my website. No reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, or third-party services—just a simple challenge-response that stops bots yet keeps the user experience smooth.

Please hook the check into both the front-end display and the back-end validation so failed attempts are blocked and logged, while successful submissions continue exactly as they do now. The styling should match the current form, and your code must be clean, well-commented, and easy for me to maintain.
