"I have a live project that suddenly throws “404 — This page could not be found” every time it tries to reach Firestore. The application type is marked simply as “Fix Firestore issue,” so the stack is not the problem—Firestore is. I need someone who knows Firebase Hosting, Firestore rules, indexing, and routing well enough to spot the mis-configuration (or whatever is hiding behind that 404) and correct it within the next hour.

You will have direct access to the Firebase console and the current codebase via Git; I can be on standby to redeploy or provide any environment variables you might need.

Acceptance criteria:
• The 404 error no longer appears when the app calls Firestore.
• All previously working read/write operations function normally after your fix.
• A short note describing what went wrong and how you resolved it.
