Project description:
"I have a Windows-based desktop application built with Qt that is starting to show a few unwanted visual quirks—misaligned widgets, occasional flicker during window resizes, and some icons that mysteriously disappear after theme changes. The underlying functionality is solid; the main pain point is purely cosmetic, but it affects usability and first impressions.
You’ll be diving into an existing Qt project (C++/Qt 5 at the moment) and hunting down the layout and paint-related issues that cause these glitches. A typical session will involve running the app on Windows 10/11, identifying the faulty UI components, refactoring or updating the corresponding .ui files or custom paint code, and then returning a clean, tested patch. While performance and logic bugs are not on the table right now, feel free to flag anything you notice; I’ll tackle them separately.
Deliverables
• Updated source files (.cpp/.h/.ui) or a pull request that fully resolves the visible glitches
• A Windows build demonstrating the fixes, ready for a quick smoke test
• A short change log outlining what you altered and why
Acceptance
I’ll consider the task complete once the interface renders correctly under normal DPI settings, themes, and window resizing, with no new warnings in the Qt Creator output panel.
If this sounds straightforward to you and you know your way around Qt’s layout system, signal-slot connections, and style sheets, I’d love to get these polish items off my plate." (client-provided description)
