"We're building an AI-powered health companion that helps people understand their diet, exercise, sleep, and symptom patterns. Think of it as having a supportive nutritionist available 24/7 through natural conversation and intelligent pattern recognition.

The opportunity: Unlike existing apps that just track calories, we're using AI to identify correlations humans can't see ("your headaches occur 3 hours after dairy consumption"). We're launching in January 2025 with a clear path to acquisition by major players like Noom, Weight Watchers, or Maven Clinic within 18-24 months.

Current stage: Functional prototype built. You'll be taking it from prototype to production-ready app by January 9, 2026 (6 weeks), then iterating based on user feedback through 2026.

What You'll Build (First 6 Weeks)
Week 1-2: Foundation

Set up production infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, GitHub)
Migrate existing React prototype to production codebase
Design and implement database schema (users, food_entries, exercise_entries, sleep_entries, symptom_entries, chat_messages)
Set up authentication (email/password via Supabase Auth)

Week 3-4: Core Features

Integrate Anthropic Claude API for AI-powered insights
Build logging flows (food, exercise, sleep, symptoms) with timestamp customization
Implement AI chat interface for daily check-ins
Create user profile and intake questionnaire system
Ensure mobile-responsive design

Week 5-6: Monetization & Polish

Integrate Stripe for subscription billing
Build admin dashboard for viewing users and metrics
Performance optimization and error handling
Deploy to production domain
Documentation for future maintenance

Deliverable by January 9, 2026: Fully functional app ready for paying customers on January 9, 2026.

Tech Stack (Non-Negotiable)
Frontend:

React (functional components, hooks)

You'll implement prompt engineering for pattern recognition

Your Responsibilities
Technical:

Write clean, maintainable React code
Design efficient database schemas and queries
Implement secure authentication and data access controls
Integrate third-party APIs (Anthropic, Stripe)
Deploy and maintain production infrastructure
Debug issues and optimize performance
Document code and architectural decisions

Communication:

Daily Slack check-ins (async, ~15 min)
30-minute video call twice per week for planning/review
Explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical founder
Provide realistic timelines and proactively flag blockers

Ownership:

You own the technical roadmap and architecture
You make technology decisions (with founder input on business logic)
You're responsible for uptime and data security
You'll set up monitoring and error tracking


Required Experience
Must Have:

3+ years professional experience building web applications
Strong React skills (hooks, state management, component architecture)
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Experience integrating RESTful APIs
Experience with Stripe or similar payment processing
Comfort working independently with minimal oversight
Strong written and verbal English communication

Nice to Have:

Experience with Supabase (or similar BaaS like Firebase)
Experience with AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
Experience in health/wellness app space
Experience building subscription-based products
Mobile development experience (React Native for future phases)

Not Required:

Backend/server experience (we're using Supabase)
DevOps expertise (Vercel handles deployment)
Design skills (we'll hire a designer for polish)
