"I’m looking for a Firebase specialist to take ownership of Phase 1 of our iOS app’s backend. While my teammate focuses on the SwiftUI front-end, you will architect and implement the Firebase layer that everything else relies on.

Here’s what needs to happen:

• Authentication – configure Firebase Authentication for email-and-password sign-up / log-in, and expose a simple method for fetching the currently authenticated user.
• Firestore – design the entire schema from scratch (we don’t have one yet) so it cleanly stores basic profile info—name and email—plus ongoing user-activity data. Your structure must align with the technical spec I’ll provide.
• Storage – initialise a Firebase Storage bucket; no upload endpoints required yet, but the setup must be ready for future media features.
• Security Rules – lock everything down with well-commented rules that protect authentication flows, profile reads/writes, and storage paths.
• Test data – create three to five realistic test accounts for QA.
• Handoff – deliver concise documentation and any JSON exports so my team can reproduce the environment locally or on another project.

Nice-to-have skills such as Cloud Functions are welcome because Phase 2 will introduce a feed system, media uploads, push notifications, and server-side logic. Strong performance here could lead to that ongoing work.
