"ARchery Software Suite – Executive Summary
Project Type: Game Development + BLE Integration + Computer Vision + macOS Engineering
Budget: Up to $50000 CAD
Timeline: 3-4 months
Deliverables: Full software suite for a commercial entertainment venue
IP Ownership: Full source code + exclusive rights
Project Overview
We are building ARchery, an 11-lane indoor augmented archery venue.
Each lane uses a projector, camera, BLE-enabled bows, piezo hit sensors, and LED effects to create an immersive, game-driven archery experience. Guests use a lane-side iPad to select games and difficulty.
The system requires:
11 independent lane applications
A central Hub app for staff management
BLE bow input handling
Impact detection (camera + sensors)
LED lighting control
A lightweight game engine experience built in Unity or Unreal
This is not a mobile app or a typical AR project. It is a real-time, location-based gaming system installed in a physical venue, with strict stability requirements.
Tech Stack Requirements
Lane System (11+ copies)
macOS (Apple Silicon)
Unity or Unreal (2D / 2.5D, lightweight rendering)
USB hit sensor integration (Arduino microcontroller)
BLE (six connections simultaneously)
UVC camera input (tracking arrow impacts)
WLED/UDP LED control
Local LAN communication (no cloud)
Local web UI server for iPad interface
Hub System
Runs on separate Mac mini
Controls sessions, lane states, overrides
Tile dashboard for all lanes
Stores configuration locally (SQLite / Postgres)
iPad UI
HTML/JS, served from each lane’s Mac
Game selection, difficulty select, help request
Must work offline on local LAN
Core Features to Build
1. Hit Detection Pipeline
Piezo impact sensor → USB event
Match with camera frame → calculate hit position
Calibration for camera → projector mapping
2. BLE Bow Integration
Six bows per lane, always connected
Only the active bow triggers shot events
Triple-press on any bow triggers “Help” SOS
3. Game Engine
10 simple, fun arcade-style games at launch
Low GPU usage, 1080p @ 120Hz output
Difficulty scaling
Fast reaction to hits
4. LED Systems
Ceiling status strip (Free, Active, Help)
Animated runway guides (timing cues, countdown, effects)
Backlit target wall FX
5. Hub Application
Start/stop/extend sessions
Assign players
Manage allowed games/difficulty
Monitor lane errors / SOS
Project Timeline
4 months total:
Month 1-2: Architecture, prototypes (BLE, sensors, camera, first game)
Month 3: 5 games, full lane pipeline, iPad UI
Month 4: All games, Hub app, LED FX, QA, deployment scripts, documentation
