"I have a small, already-running application that was originally built in either C++ or Python (the codebase mixes both, so you will need to be comfortable with each). I now need hands-on help here in Dallas to move the project forward.

Your core focus will be twofold: first, adding a set of clearly-defined new features that we will outline together once you have reviewed the current architecture; second, tightening overall performance so the program feels faster and more responsive. The performance work will likely involve profiling, refactoring hotspots, and making sure any resource-intensive routines are as lean as possible.

Because the project is compact, I expect you to work directly on my existing repository, meet in person when code walk-throughs are necessary, and push clean, well-documented commits. We will agree on milestones for each new feature and for measurable speed improvements before you start coding.
