Project description:
"I want to go from a raw Microsoft Word manuscript straight to a press-ready PDF without touching a layout program. The software or AI workflow you create has to read the .docx file, recognise structural cues—chapter openings and closings, poems, sutras, and every other special block—and then apply the exact layout specifications contained in the reference guide I’ve attached. That guide covers page size, margins, running heads, spacing, hyphenation, line breaks, versification, and the subtle rules that set poems and sutras apart from body text.
The engine should be smart enough to tag those elements automatically, apply the correct paragraph and character styles, and flow the text so that the final output is visually identical to a hand-typeset book. Mistakes in detection or spacing that would normally need manual correction must be kept to an absolute minimum.
I’m fine with whichever professional layout backbone you prefer—Adobe InDesign scripting, QuarkXPress automation, a custom TeX pipeline, or a fresh AI model—as long as, at the end, I receive every major editable format (IDML, QuarkXPress project file, and native InDesign file) alongside the press-ready PDF.
Deliverables
• Print-ready PDF that matches the attached spec
• Editable sources: .idml, .indd, and QuarkXPress file
• Clear instructions or scripts so I can run the conversion myself on new Word manuscripts
If you’ve built similar automated typesetting tools or have an AI approach that can nail tricky poetry layout, I’d love to see a quick demo or sample pages." (client-provided description)
