International Purchasing Portal | Web Development
1. Project Overview

We are seeking a developer or software company to build an international purchasing portal.
The platform must allow customers to:

Register and access a product catalog

Create orders based on container volume (with a visual container-filling indicator)

Track order status from tentative to final delivery in Argentina

View and download all related documentation (contract, BL, packing list, inspection photos, certificates)

Track shipments via map or external link

Receive automatic email notifications

All operational steps will be performed manually by our internal team.
The platform must be minimalist, modern, multilingual (English/Spanish/Chinese) and responsive.

2. Development Scope (MVP)
2.1. Roles

Administrator
Creates and manages products, orders, documents, payments, inspections, approvals.

Customer
Registers, creates orders, tracks status, downloads documents.

(Future advanced version: Supplier role. Not part of the MVP.)

3. Functional Requirements
3.1. Registration & Login

Customer registration with email & password

Secure login

Password reset

Multi-language support: English, Spanish, Chinese

3.2. Product Catalog

Each product must include:

Name, description, photos

Country of origin & port/factory of departure

Modes: FOB / CIF

Volume per unit, pack, or pallet

Minimum quantity (pallet or configurable)

Maximum per container (40HC or 20’, based on volume/weight)

Visible price or “Request price”

“Eligible for resale in transit” flag (admin-controlled)

3.3. Order Creation / Container Visualization

Graphic representation of a container filling as the customer adds volume

Percentage indicator (0–100%)

Allow partially filled containers

Allow multiple containers if capacity is exceeded

3.4. Order Status Workflow

Statuses updated manually by the Administrator:

Tentative

Under review

Under verification

Confirmed

Preparing cargo

Loaded / ready to ship

Shipped

In transit

Arrived in Argentina

Ready for pickup / delivery

Each update must trigger an automatic email notification to the customer.

3.5. Documentation Management

Administrator uploads:

Contract template

Signed contract (customer downloads, signs, certifies, returns)

BL

Packing list

Invoices

Certificates

Inspection photos

Customer must be able to view and download all documents.

3.6. Inspection

Status: Approved / Not approved

Admin uploads photos and marks status.

3.7. Payments (Manual)

No payment gateway integration needed.

Admin manually marks:

Advance payment: paid / pending

Balance payment (1 or 2 installments): paid / pending

When a payment is marked as paid → automatic email to customer.

3.8. Shipment Tracking

Simple integrated map or external vessel-tracking link

ETA displayed (editable by admin)

Automatic email alert if ETA changes

3.9. Notifications

All notifications sent by email:

Registration

Tentative order received

Order confirmed

Status updates

Shipment

ETA change

Arrival

Payment confirmed

3.10. Support

No internal chat required
