Project Overview

I’m building a VR app factory and need a strong Unity VR developer to:
1. Set up a reusable base Unity project for Meta Quest (Quest 2/3).
2. Build one simple demo experience on top of that base.
This is a one-time pilot project. If it works well, I will use this base for many future apps and may extend the collaboration or hire full-time.

What I Will Provide

- A detailed written spec (very detailed “giant prompt” style document).
- AI-generated C# scripts produced with ChatGPT/Replit that you can plug into Unity and adjust as needed.
- Direction on the concept, flows, and what the demo should do.

Your Main Tasks
--------------------------------------------------
1) Create the Unity VR Base Project (Meta Quest)
Set up a Unity project that:
- Targets Meta Quest (Android build).
- Uses XR Interaction Toolkit and Meta/Oculus Integration.
- Has:
- Working XR rig (player) with visible controllers/hands.
- Teleport locomotion + snap turning (comfort-friendly).
- A simple world-space menu (Start, Exit; Settings stub is a plus).
- Includes at least one test scene that:
- Loads correctly on Quest.
- Lets the user stand in a room, teleport, snap turn, and press a basic button.
This project should be clean and reusable as a template for future VR apps.
2) Build a Small Demo App on Top of the Base
On top of the base project, create a simple example experience, for example:
- Hub room → portal/door to a “training room”.
- In the training room:
- A few interactive objects (e.g., button, grabbable object, simple target).
- Very simple scoring or timer logic:
- For example: press button to start timer, hit 3 targets, finish → show score.
The goal is to prove that the base template is usable and extendable, not to build a full game.
3) Integrate and Improve AI-Generated Code
- Take C# scripts generated by ChatGPT/Replit:
- Integrate them into the Unity project.
- Fix compile/runtime errors.
- Clean up and organize scripts (folders, naming).
- You are welcome to adjust and improve the code where needed, as long as it remains:
- Understandable.
- Reusable for future apps.
4) Deliver a Working Quest Build
- Provide:
- The full Unity project (via Git repository or archive).
- A built APK that I can sideload and test on my Meta Quest.
- I should be able to:
- Launch the app on Quest.
- Teleport and snap turn.
- Go through the small demo loop (hub → training room → score/end).

- VR/XR setup ready.

- How to open and run the project.
- How to build for Quest.
- Where the core scripts/scenes are located.
- Brief comments in key scripts where needed.
4. APK Build:
- Installable on Quest 2/3 for testing.

Required Skills

- Strong experience with Unity and C#.
- Hands-on experience with:
- XR Interaction Toolkit.
- Meta/Oculus Integration / Quest builds.
- You have already built or prototyped at least one Quest app (App Lab, Store, or internal).
- Comfortable working with AI-generated code (ChatGPT/Replit) and editing/fixing it.

How We Will Work

- Code will live in a Git repository (mine or yours).
- I will:
- Provide the initial spec and AI-generated scripts.
- Test builds on a Quest device and give feedback.
- You will:
- Implement, test in Unity and on Quest.
- Iterate to a clean, stable base template plus demo.
