"I keep missing calls because I forget my Galaxy S22 is muted. What I need is a small Android service that quietly watches the ringer state and, the moment the phone switches to Silent, drops a persistent status-bar notification. Icon-only is perfect—just the classic mute symbol—no text, no extra banners. As soon as the ringer returns to Normal or Vibrate the notification must disappear, so I always know at a glance whether sound is off.

The implementation is up to you as long as it:
• queries the system ringer API reliably on modern Android versions,
• survives Doze, battery-optimisation and reboot,
• plays nicely with Samsung’s One UI (including showing on the Always-On Display), and
• stays entirely in the background with no extra taps from me.

Deliverables:
1. Signed APK for quick install.
2. Full source (Kotlin or Java) with build instruction.
3. Brief read-me outlining permissions used and how the service keeps itself alive.
